Jamie MacLean saw an eagle snatch a lamb from a flock grazing on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Scotland, last week, and fly off with it, 200 yards to the mainland. The eagle alighted on a cliffface, and tore the carcass to pieces, eating part, and dropping the rest. Part of the prey was washed down to the loch, and devoured by fish. The eagles will be watched to see if they turn to good account in keeping down vermin.
