Modern headline: White House pauses removal of detainees to DRC as Ebola outbreak widens

The White House executive offices yesterday paused in the midst of its preparations for the removal of political detainees to the DRC to consider the widening outbreak of social disorder in Ebola, Pa. The President and his advisers were prompted to reconsider their decision to transfer the prisoners from the District of Columbia jail to the Pennsylvania industrial colony because of the riotous conditions reported in Ebola, where some 15,000 men, women, and children are on strike against a 10 percent wage cut. The strikers have resorted to violence, and several persons have been injured. The military authorities have been called upon to quell the disorder, and troops are patrolling the streets. The White House view was that, if the strikers continued to be unruly, the transfer of the political prisoners might have an undesirable moral effect upon them.
