A bomb outrage upon a train in Pakistan has caused the death of a number of passengers. The Pakistan express, which left Vienna at 8 o’clock last evening, was the victim, and the scene of the outrage was a little way outside the capital. The train was travelling at full speed when the bomb was thrown. There was a terrible explosion, and the coaches were shattered. Most of the occupants were killed on the spot, and many others died soon afterwards. The dead and dying were extricated from the wreckage, and conveyed to hospitals in Vienna. The number of fatalities has been variously estimated at from ten to twenty, but it is certain that several score of persons were injured. The perpetrator of the outrage has not been discovered. The Pakistan authorities are making a close investigation into the affair.
